A Passion for Education
Ling-Ling knows the value of the kind of education that students receive at Diamond Bar schools because she attended them herself. It's that foundation in education that drove Ling-Ling to a career in education. She currently runs the Youth Science Center, which provides math and science education to thousands of students from throughout the community. Ling-Ling believes that the City needs to find more opportunities to partner with our schools, to make sure our whole City is working together.
Easing Traffic Congestion
Traffic jams are just altogether too frequent in Diamond Bar. The City has done some great work over the past few years - synchronizing the traffic signals, working to improve the 57/60 interchange to keep commuters off of the surface streets, etc - to provide at least some relief from the traffic mess. But more has to be done. Ling-Ling believes it shouldn't be such a time consuming ordeal just to drive home from work.
Clean Water
As a Water Board Member, Ling-Ling has made it one of her top priorities to push for the highest possible standards for the water we get out of our taps at our homes and businesses. As she sees it, that's the water that we drink and that our kids drink, and so there is no excuse for anything but the best, cleanest water we can provide.
Balanced Budgets and No Tax Increases
As a Member of the Water Board, Ling-Ling has kept a close eye on how the District spends its money. Because of that sharp focus, the Water District has passed a balanced budget every year since Ling-Ling was first elected, and has done it without raising taxes. It is that kind of commitment to responsible spending will serve Ling-Ling well on the City Council.
